# Tokenomics

Chartreux Token is an ERC-20 token built on the Core blockchain. It has a maximum total supply of 100 Billion tokens, with no possibility of minting new tokens. The token has a burning mechanism, which means that a small percentage of each transaction is burned, reducing the total supply of tokens in circulation over time.\
\
The burning mechanism has a twofold effect. Firstly, it helps to maintain the scarcity of the token, which can increase its value over time. Secondly, it incentivizes holding the token, as the fewer tokens in circulation, the more valuable each token becomes. This creates a positive feedback loop where the token becomes increasingly valuable as more people hold it, creating a network effect that can drive adoption.
